"Just for the record,....I can not/will not recommend anything DPMS!"

Yeah, I hear you Sir and am begining to understand....but for this project/learning experience the major dice have been cast and I will press on.
Stubborn optimist? probably

...but as the learning experience nears it's conclusion, any AR-10 clone is better than no AR-10 clone! :woohoo:

Your build will be fine,........my disaster was pre MagPul magazine availability.

Does Magpul make DPMS pattern .308 mags ... in 10 round capacity? Remember, I'm stuck in Kalifornia for at least another 3 years. :(

Every search I do comes up a zero. :( Hopefully someone will have a solution, Cali. is a big market and Magpul is top of the line for magazines so if there are not ten rounders there has to be a modification.......if not you only have to deal with the steel mag for three years ;)

There was a company making internal mag spacers for the PMag. Limits capacity to 10 rounds.
Would think you would have to pin the baseplate

My guess would be that I'm out of luck there, as I'm not 'allowed' to buy the over-10 round magazine to add a spacer. A longer mag sure would be handy to grab onto when empty, whatever the capacity.
Hmmm.....I wonder if my daughter in Alabama owes me a birthday gift?

Just a bit late for me, thanks. I found that a liberal application of duct tape & hot glue holds that barrel in just fine!
Maintaining headspace tolerance is a problem I'm still working on... :rotfl:
