AR10.B 20" barrel

Upper: Armalite U10A4BF
Lower: Armalite EA0901G

Handguard: www.midwestindustriesinc.com/index.cfm?f...lay&category_ID=1236

Low profile gas block: www.armalite.com/ItemForm.aspx?item=15109711KIT

Spike's tactical .308 compensator

Stock: Magpul UBR

Buffer: www.762sass.com/index.php?route=product/..._id=374&search=hbs10

Buffer spring: www.762sass.com/index.php?route=product/...search=buffer+spring

I put 60 rounds through this rifle and nearly every round would not cycle. I had to manually manipulate the charging handle to load the next cartridge. Spent cases ejected fine. Had two double feeds.

I feel like I have the wrong buffer/buffer spring combination.

Are there any recommendations for a buffer/spring setup with this stock?

Could it be related to the new gas block?

This is the only configuration I've shot this rifle so I don't have anything to compare it to.

Thanks

Might very well be the buffer spring set up. Might also be the alignment of the gas block with the barrel gas port. Not familiar with those products so can't give much more advice.

Are you using an AR-10 carbine buffer tube or a standard AR-15 carbine buffer tube? Your buffer is for the AR-15 short buffer tube and not an AR-10 tube.
" NOT for use with a standard AR-10 carbine receiver extension tube. buffer Made of Stainless Steel and tungsten. This buffer is shorter than the standard AR10 Carbine buffer"
Your spring is an Armalite AR-10 spring so the combo may not be compatible.

Short of that I'd check the gas system for alignment or leaks.

The buffer tube is the AR15 shorter overall length.

Another source told me to try this buffer: www.heavybuffers.com/car10xh

Thanks the gas system seems like the next logical step.

Going to roll with JT on this. buffer/spring + gas block + gas tube length + barrel length = fully functional and operational weapons SYSTEM.

There is an amazing amount of latitude amongst these components, but at the end of the day they all have to operating in harmony. You cannot make a carbine out of a rifle by adding a carbine buffer tube.

There is a tendency in the Black gun market for end users to run out and buy the latest and greatest they read about some this months issue of Guns R Us. You also see in guys are into cars etc etc. We all do it.

Of course, like JT said, be sure and check that gas system for leaks, if its leaking then nutting ain't gonna work right...let us know what you discover.

You do NOT need to leave it stock, just need to make sure its in "balance" and it will purr like a kitten... :twothumbs:

Went though this on a LAR-8, using a AR15 Ergo F93 buttstock go to the heavy buffers address posted above, tell them what you're using, and they will sell you the proper buffer and spring...fixed mine 100%.

I had the same problem. I have a PRS .308, the spring it came with was like a brand new car shock absorber. I replaced it with a Tubb precision spring, 200 plus not a single ftf
