AR10 B Is Gone? was created by silver78

I just looked at the 2014 Armalite Catalog. I notice they only show AR10A models. Is the AR10B is being phased out?

 I didn't see it there either? That would make the recent introduction of the AR-31 a little silly since it uses B magazines. Thought I had enough mags but maybe a few more wouldn't hurt.........

the "B" wasn't discontinued the last time I looked...

BUT

What I did find out, since ArmaLite was bought out, the owners son, the works at a different location, likes the "A" series better cause that is what he owns and thinks that is the direction the company should go in.

It is a "B"
I am guessing you are seeing a move towards industry standardization. Possible due to interest in military contracts as you have all those M110 magazines already in military inventory. And it is not cost efficient for a company to produce two lowers that are essentially the same rifle.

Update: Armalite responded to my email. They are contnuing to sell the B Model AR10. They just did not put it in that cataloge for some reason.

That's good to know as I have purchased 2 in the last couple of years and was concerned about getting spare parts.

I guess the question is: Do I sell my AR10T-B now or hold on to it to see if its gets rare status?????

For the first time they are making the AR10 T in a "A" model. I am guessing they will wait until they sell out all their "B" models at regular price before announcing they are discontinuing them. That way they don't have to take a loss on current inventory.
