A recent bill introduced in the California state senate has angered many imitation- firearm enthusiasts. Tippmann Sports, a Fort Wayne company that sells paintball guns and gear, could also be affected by the bill even though it does not receive parts for its products from California. Dennis Tippmann Jr., vice president of Tippmann Sports, said sales could be affected if the bill is passed.

The Louisiana House voted 79-6 Tuesday to do away with the six-month waiting period to apply for a concealed handgun permit.

Opponents of a campus gun ban at the University of Colorado told the state Supreme Court on Wednesday the ban is illegal because it was not approved by the Legislature. Jim Manley, representing a group of students promoting concealed carry of firearms on campus, said lawmakers would have listed universities as exceptions in a law passed in 2003 if they wanted guns banned on campus.

A concealed carry gun bill that was tabled by the Maine House on Tuesday was approved Wednesday evening. The bill would allow valid concealed carry permit holders to lock their guns in their cars at their place of work.

Yesterday, the House Committee on Administration of Criminal Justice unanimously passed Senate Bill 39 by a voice vote, sending it to the House floor for consideration. Sponsored by state Senators Eric LaFleur (D-28) and Neil Riser (R-32), SB 39 would clarify that Louisianans may purchase a long gun in any state, and allow a citizen of any other state to purchase a long gun in Louisiana, so long as both states allow such purchases.
