Question about buffer tube setups

Question about buffer tube setups was created by Goldsmith

Forgive my ignorance on this subject but I've built an upper with a 20 inch barrel. The lower I'm using is from my complete DPMS lr308 carbine. Can I use my telescoping 6 position stock set up or do I need to go with a rifle length buffer tube setup to run properly? I plan on putting either the Luth-AR skeletonized adjustable stock or the magpul PRS stock in which case I have to change the buffer tube, buffer and spring out anyway. In the meantime I'd still like to shoot my rifle so will my current setup work for now? Thanks!

As long as you use the correct buffer, tube, and spring combination for each system your rifle will run fine. No mixing like a carbine spring in a rifle length extension tube.
