Apparently my memory is toast right now. I just read these posts and I forgot who wanted the loads for 180 grain bullets. Regardless:
Around about 42 grains of IMR4895 has worked well for me - in a rifle with a 1 in 10" twist barrel. It would have to be pushed faster to work in a 1 in 12" twist, but there's not a lot of wiggle room when you're loading to magazine length. It's also important to remember this was from a 20" barrel. If you've got a 24", then that might be able to provide the extra velocity they'd need.
I guess I consider short range to be 200 yards and under.
To get back to the point of this thread: If I remember tomorrow, I'll see if I can't get a picture of the whole family together.

By the way, what is the grip you have on the top rifle. Looks comfortable and I'm gonna be setting my awesome wife up pretty soon so I'll be lookin for goodies - I like the Hogues but never seen that style before....
