I want an ACOG! Uh, ... which one? was created by Charlie
We picked up an AUG today, and want to put an ACOG on it. Gazing at the Trijicon site I see a bewildering array of ACOGs!
Application is target, light game hunting, and general stuff you do with a bullpup. Range mostly less than 100 yds, but usability at 200 yds is desirable. If it's laser friendly for night hunting that's a plus.
I haven't been around much lately. I started a new job a year ago and I have to run just to stay in the same place. On the plus side I'm the lab director at a startup 20 bbl brewery, and we make the best damn beer in Louisiana!

"Yes officer, I know I smell like beer. I'm not drinking it, I'm wearing it!"

I chose a TA33r-H when I bought mine. Mainly for the .223 ballistic reticle and the fiber optic.
I did replace the mount with a Larue QD lever mount.......great 3 power optic!
Big difference between the ACOG and most other stuff out there...you can use the ACOG for a hammer if you really need one. Think of it as a hammer with superior optics.

Key diff is field of vision...one is 3x30 the other 3.5x35. I personally like the TA11 myself, works good on my .308 and I have the J-308 reticle in green.
A lot is your personal pref, not sure any one is better or worse than another...

Looked at an ACOG for my LMT, decided to go with a 1.5-6 power scope.
With plans on taking this carbine hog hunting, I felt a variable optic would suit my needs better.
Would love to have a ACOG as well.....just not in the budget.

ACOG's are great scopes. What they bring to the table is ruggedness and they do that in spades. They truly are a combat scope for the soldiers which makes them a hellva scope for us.
