Mix and Match Question

Mix and Match Question was created by Bob Downey

Can an Armalite AR-10 .308 20" upper be placed on an Armalite lower with a CAR stock?
Its obvious that it will fit but, will it function?
Can it be made to work?
I've heard of .223 combos like this working by changing to a different weight buffer.
Any one here know?
I've just sent an email to Tech at Armalite asking the same.
If no one knows thats okay.
I'll post back their answer if no one knows so we all will.

It'll work. As with the 5.56 ARs, make sure you're using a heavy buffer. If the original rifle was an AR10 carbine w/midlength gas system, it should have the heavy buffer already.

Drum Roll please!

The answer direct from Tech at Armalite (Thanks Tim!)... Yes!
All Armalite AR-10 Uppers are directly compatible in their function with any config Armalite AR-10 Lowers.
You were absolutely correct LebbenB.
