AR10 Port Door Shaft was created by huntenthusiast
According to ArmaLite, the only difference between the A4 and 10T uppers is the length of the port door shaft. The 10T is 3/16" longer. In either case the shaft rests on the standard handguard ring(A4) or the free float ring(10T)which is further forward by said 3/16". Can I safely assume the reason the shaft would come out is from recoil? Has anyone freefloated an A4 upper without changing the shaft and not encountered problems?

I know "Milspec" swapped out his for a Factory SASS free float, you might send him a note and see if he has had any issues....sorry can't be much more help than that....

It is a good thing to know, will have to put that in the file so if I ever swap out mine I know I have to change it....Thanks.
