Hmmm, not to familiar with that brand...I looked at the ones from Buffer Tech once...but I was not sure if I want to spend a 100 on something I am not sure is going to benefit me..Maybe MSH could shed some light on this....

BMS my only gripe with them is there is to much of a change with them with the cold verses hot weather, a nitrogen pack would be in order because fluid flowes slower in the winter. We had some issues in the past with this and the spring and buffer always worked with little change.MSH

Hot Lead I need to get you in class next time and heres why, bolt bounce only works on blow back uppers without locking lugs. The locking lugs prevent this because all the cam action is in the bolt carrier and not on the lugs or barrel extenion (locking lugs). This cam action is backed up with a strong buffer spring. Its the location of the camming. If this mith was true every AK47 would do the same thing with their weaker spring and bigger cam area. pull your carrier out and hand work it and you will get it. The pistol round blow back uppers is where the issues come from firing out of battery on a minnor bounce with no locking lugs in the mix. I address this issue heavly in class with working models. The reason for the less muzzle rise is for the extra cushion effect on the rearward cycle. Going to the stage 1 or 2 extra power buffer springs do the same job better and cheaper. Adjust your gas cutoff screw to where the bolt catch locks the bolt back on the last round with all the different ammo that you use. Remember the AR15 was designed to be used with 3031 powder only and bolt bounce has been misidentified from the early 9mm days. The use of ball powders caused a bunch of problems with bolt cycle speed and the issues with the heavy bullets and barrel twist CAR or rifle has been a big bandaid for 40 years. The AR10 needs to be addressed differently. The piston units out are going to reinvent some of these problems over again with port pressure timming and all the powder combos out there. John Hollinger was one of my students that made a good name for himself with his business White Oak Armory and after reading some of his commits over the years I can hear some of the concerns with some of the fix all products. These hidro buffers have gotten a contractors employee KIA in the sandbox so with the trouble I've seen I aint using them.MSH

I should have distinguished between bolt bounce with pistol calibers and benefit of lower muzzle raise and less recoil in regards to center fire rifle calibers.

Zapper see if you can find where that DOD contract landed because I have a new class full of marines SF and some others and all has heard rumors but none can find where there at. Thinking just a test batch sent to NITACT and thats as far as it it went.msh

:huh: If it anint broke, don't fix it. With that being said I'll say this about any accesory you add to your rifle. Many of the 'so called ills' of the AR-10/15s are there to get your money. I had a Colt PS-1 (AR-15) way back in the 70's that came in the G.I. A1 configuration. for all the years I shot it and the 8 pound kegs of powder I shot (WW748, IMR3031, and IMR4895) I never had ANY problems with the rifle. Now with my AR10-(T) broken in with 500rds with a 24" tube I'm getting a fast cycle situation. My ejection pattern is now at 4-5 O'clock (From the standard of 2-3 O'clock)while using a 95% load of H4895, or H-BLC(2)for a Sierra 175gr Match king. This is a problem that requires a legitament fix, and ArmaLites thoughts are using a heavyer buffer (heaveybuffer.com)to slow down the cycling. My thoughts are to add weight to the carrier with a fix that Brownell's has that adds weight to the rear of the bolt carrier with a sleeve and weights, and as it's for the AR-15 I hope it fits my AR-10 as well. Because the barrel is 24" long shorting it to 20" will shorten the gas impulse and ejection pattern. As of July 5th I await my parts to see how they work. As you see, I have a problem and I'm trying to fix it. I'll cover one thing with you, and that is why I did'nt change the action spring 1)The Stock spring was well with in sevice specification in terms of OAL and coil count 2)Adding a heavyer spring realy starts beating things up.
