Now an owner. I picked up my first DPMS LR-308 last week. We took it out a sighted it in on Saturday and all I can say is if I had purchased this rifle first there would be three less AR-15s in my possession. Now this is a real rifle.

I bought my AR-10 first after months of research...but then discovered that it was not suited for "in the house" Ops....I don't want to shoot my neighbors because of an intruder...so I bought my M-15...next...Still feel like I am going to break it when I handle it....
The 5.56 Does has it's place...right beside the 7.62x51....

I also have a DPMS 308 there very fun to shoot. Going to start reloading 308 now its cheaper for as much shooting as the kids and I do. But would never give up my Battle Rifle! 5.56 got me back home more than once.

I agree - using it in the house is not a great idea. That is what I have the Remington 870 Tactical for... It also works like a charm for zombies that get too close. For long range use the LR-308 is hard to beat unless you are using a .50 BMG, .338 Lapua, or the .416 Barrett..
