There has been a few decent libertarian candidates over the years but they have problems getting past the radicals there, if enough of us decided to join we would have an actual party framework to start with though. I was a Paul supporter the first time he ran as a Libertarian, didn't agree 100% but he seemed to understand the constitution the same way I do.

I do have concerns the tea party thing has been co-opted from the top. When I heard Sen. Cruz call for more federal resources my heart dropped, I thought he was a small government guy?????????

What does OleCowboy think of Mr. Cruz? I only got info on him filtered through the media so I'm feeling a bit misled, our local Liberty group called for us to support him but have nothing to say about it yet, aside from myself asking. It is getting very difficult to establish where politicians stand, at least it is after they get elected...........

What American as a whole needs to do is this........

Set aside your political party affiliation for a few years. Vote EVERYONE out!

If the president can only serve two terms why can't the senators and representatives be limited to two terms?

We need to keep Obama away from any lakes or ANY bodies of water large enough to house the Lady of the Lake...

One reason not to limit them is freedom of choice, it would be an intrusion into our right to choose who we see fit to represent us. Problem is this system only works with an active and involved electorate. I'm of the opinion that decisions like this need to be made as close to home as possible. I sure am sick of hearing these politicians rile people up about term limits then have a total change of direction after they are elected.
Money, that is the key, follow the money.......
I have proposed a platform plank many times over the years that I feel would be a workable solution. Limit contributions to those that can vote for the individual, no limits on amount, just where exactly the money comes from. I look at all the outside money that floods Iowa politics and have to ask; Who are my representatives answering to?
