Hand Loading for AR10T was created by Michael_D_Henry

Hello, I am looking for a load recommendation for an AR10T with a 20" match barrel and the twist rate is 1/10. I have had OK results from various 165 and 168gr loadings, but not the kind of accuracy I know this gun is capable of producing. I probably will not be doing any hunting with this rifle as it is very heavy, so really looking for match bullets that will cycle well in an AR platform.

As Lib suggests, that is an excellent thread. In the reloading section there are several very good ones. I use 42 grains RL 15 behind a SMK 175 gr HPBT for my AT10T Carbine, and 43 gr RL15 behind a 168 gr SMK HPBT in my Standard 20" barrel AR10. The 175 with Lake City brass the 168 with Winchester brass. Both Winchester Large rifle primers and a COL of 2.80.

I use 46.0 grs of Varget, 155 gr Palma SMK, Win brass, Fed 210M primers, OAL 2.825. It shoots .3 inch groups at 100yds. Probably do better with a better shooter or better barrel. It shoots the same in my Armalite 20" stainless bull 1/11.25 twist barrel and my Christianson Arms 18" Carbon Fiber barrel with 1/10 twist. AR-10T upper and lower, Giessel trigger. I'm also not a competition shooter and just load for hunting accuracy. Couldn't live with myself if I ever wounded an animal and didn't recover it.
