Scope ring question

Scope ring question was created by Moreau

I know a lot of you run a Vortex Viper 2.5-10x44 scope and was wondering what scope rings y'all have found best? I was thinking the Vortex cantilever ring mount, its under $100. I don't really want to spend too much on the rings. Any thoughts?

I think I'm going with the Vortex Viper 2.5-10x44 w/ Dead Hold BDC Reticle and this will be for my ar10.

Thanks,
Joe

I like to shoot with my nose as close to the charging handle as possible if not on it.

For me the Larue SPR-E works great and worth every penny.

If you want separate rings, you can't do much better (in my opinion) than TPS rings.

As for a base with integtrated rings, I like GG&G.

If you want an inclined base, like 20 moa, I think American Defense is about your only choice.

Larue offers a SPR type and non cantilever type mounts available in 10 and 20 moa in 1" 30mm 34mm and 35mm ring options.

Mounts and rings are as important, if not more so, than the scope.

I'm going with larue mounts. Thinking:

Trijicon Accupoint 3-9X40, Mil-Dot Crosshair and LT104-1 Mount $885 total

or

Vortex Viper PST 1-4x24 Riflescope with TMCQ MRAD PST-14ST-M on a larue mount as well. $710 total.

Any ideas? Suggestions? :twocents: ?

I'm contemplating these things... Along your lines now.... Have been advised by the guys... And amd going with LaRue's 104...... Still have an open mind on a low power variable scope though... But I have a nice old one till I make up my mind..... VX R Patrol 1.25 to 4 holds my interest........

I just picked up a 3.5x35 Trijicon ACOG and I think I hit the bulls eye with it

I was thinking about the acog even though the base model is on the upside of my budget. I'm just trying to weight my options. I want something that I can get quick target acquisition but I still would like to be able to stay on target out to 300m all while staying under a grand, tough task, I know.

In an ideal world I'd go with an ACOG 6x48 with top mounted RMR and .308 ballistic reticle but like I said I don't have $3k to drop on a scope at the moment.
