Kind of my first one. I was a mortar crew leader and had one while I was in. This is the first as a civilian. We were one of the last units to get swapped out to the "new improved" M9  . I always liked the 1911. I have a couple of 9mm's and a Glock 21 but this is my first 1911. I took it to the range this afternoon. It shoots amazing! Light crisp trigger and good balance. If it's like my Glock it'll take a couple hundred rounds to break in but not FTF or FTE's.

Yeah. Run a couple hundred rounds of 230 gr Ball to let everything wear in. Moreso than most pistols, 1911s are VERY mag sensitive. I always recommend Wilson Combat 47Ds and Chip McCormick Shooting Stars. Replace your recoil spring and firing pin spring together at 3500-5000 rounds, use a good grease or oil like TW25B or SLiP EWL and life will be good.

BTW, 1911s are like ARs...You can never stop at just one. ;)
