Fitment issue with a new Armalite OD grip was created by faawrenchbndr

Ordered a new set of furniture for my AR10.
Notice the gap between the grip and receiver, yes, screw has been tightened.
Seems the OD grip I received is .0945" shorter.......any thoughts?

do you have a picture of the ejection port side?

How are your springs for the safety and take down pin? Are they bent?

Gap is the same on the other side, gap is the same without springs installed.
The new grip is noticeably shorter. Will get a port side pic. Note, springs not installed.

Will it fit snug without the screw? If so take a little off the grip screw and retry.

Instead of measuring the outside, what are the measurements of the channel cut for the receiver and the tang on the receiver that the grip fits on.

I'm thinking that the grip has too much plastic in the channel, preventing it from going on all the way.

Concur. I was thinking the same thing. I had the same issue with a MOE pistol grip for my son's rifle.

:I-agree: Happened to me. Had to adjust the grip so it would fit.

Grip does not seat with or without a screw.

The "new" grip is short. Channel seems to be .0941 shorter iron a channel
than my old grip. The overall length of the new grip is shorter.

Answer me this,.......why is the new grip shorter? Why is there a gap?
The measurements tend to show the exterior of the grip being the issue.

Even with the outer dimensions being a little shorter, you can see from the pictures that is not where the problem is though.

Something inside that channel is stopping it from going all the way on.

The other reason I say it's not the outer dimension is that ArmaLite has even shorter grips than that, but the channel fits perfectly.
