I sent my Armalite AR10T 20" barrel off to get machined. Weight before any flutes being cut is 62 ounces. Will weigh and post a weight following the machining.

Here is a weight chart showing a few barrel weights.

I like fluting (in spite of its opponents and some MINOR degradation in extreme long range accuracy) and think its of value especially on the AR10 platform where its weight become a factor...that said I have carried the M 14 which weighs about the same. However I was not only quite young but got in shape to carry it. While I am not in bad shape today, lighter is a lot better especially if you intend to use your AR10 as a hunter or a post SHTF weapon of mass destruction...

My AR15 is a full flute and I like it, glad I did it.

Here is the link where faawrench is getting his done, they have some great shots of other weapons they have also done, check it out...

Same here. UBR + heavy buffer = WIN! Best thing I did to my AR10.

The Vortex PST line is probably the best value going in rifle scopes. Great choice.
