I could be wrong, but as far as I know all of Dueck's sights are designed for "same plane" installations. If the front sight is mounted on a gas block with a rail that is lower (or higher) than the receiver rail, then the sights may not work as designed.

My SuperSASS has a full-length rail that ends just behind the gas block, so installing the Dueck sights did not require any changes. However, I had to replace the gas block on my Stag 6.8 SPC before the Dueck pieces would work as designed.

They will not work on the basic AR-10 because the gas block rail is on a lower plane unlike most AR-15's. I have not seen any that work for our basic AR-10's yet, maybe BMS can put a word in for us at MI, looks like something they should make.

I've been working on this for awhile now added a rail on the top of the front sight! Just don't know if the need is really out their(for mass production) when you can buy the sight from Dueck, if you like composite! I would rather have metal and you can also buy the 45deg mount from Cheaper than Dirt and the flip up same plane sites from MI. If someone would market this and give me a order for 50pcs I will make them  ask and you shall receive. :cowboy:

Hey Akai! I've been thinking along these lines for a long long time. About 9-years ago I did the drafting for this 12 rail float tube. Along the same lines of a 45 degree cant, does anyone think this has a place?

All good stuff, thanks guys! Yeah I hadnt even noticed that they are not mounted on the same 'plane'. I am saving up for a full length railed handguard, so I am thinking that will resolve my issue. Anybody got thoughts on this one on the Armalite page?

Gentlemen, if you are going to make these things, please keep in mind that OTHER people now see them and any patent hopes or "getting the jump" could potentially be compromised by others who DO have the means and where-with-all to make it happen quickly.

Just a heads up guys. I know you KNOW all this but still. I'd hate to see our members ideas and potential sources of income get ripped off by someone quicker on the draw. These things happen all the time...

And remember, if I didn't care, I wouldn't have said a word... Well, maybe SOMETHING but more humorous, maybe a tad on the dry side with a bit of mayo and extra pickle...

Just an update to this old thread: I just purchased two Yankee Hill Machine low profile gas block adapters to put 45 degree offset BUIS on my AR10's, neither which have full length rails. Will do a report on how they work. Lib, is this what you ended up doing on your RRA?
