Building my AR10 was created by NightForce

This seems the place to show off builds AR10 members have started or in various stages of completion.

The list below is the best I can do right now as all of it is on order through my local gun shop. I wanted to toss it out there sort of as a preview of things to come...

I am excited now that everything on this list has actually been ordered!

:twothumbs: Night Force you are definitely going top shelf with this build. I am going to enjoy watching this thread. What is the rifles primary purpose? Or is it going to be All purpose? What is the planned barrel length? From the JP serial number I am guessing 20 inches.

Thank you!

The objective behind this build is to ensure accuracy from a cold bore shot and deliver the required energy to the target. Reliability and consistency are also on the list of requirements.

You're correct, the part number does give away a lot of the barrels information!

Caliber: .308 Win.
Length: 20"
Gas system: Rifle-length
Twist: 1:10 button rifled
Contour: .750 under hand guard/.875 in front of gas block
Diameter at gas block: .936
Muzzle threads: 5/8"-24 TPI
Material: 416 stainless
Cryogenic treatment
Black Teflon finish

I also chose the Geissile SSA-E trigger group. Out of all the triggers I've tried I've found the design, manufacture, and consistency to be the absolute best. I have the SSA-E model in all my AR's..

I am actually going to delay my build while I watch Night man do his, I plan on using some of the same parts and I want to see if he encounters any issues along the path...

I stopped by my local shop and after some initial delays, at least the JP Enterprises parts are officially on order.

For some strange reason, JP was insisting on a $5,000 minimum in order for my local licensed gun shop to receive dealer pricing....which is crazy in my opinion. After some back and forth discussions JP decided that no minimum was required and set his shop up as a dealer.

My friends business is a full service walk in shop with a minimum of 75 long guns and 50 or so handguns on display for sale 6 days a week. He does a great business so I'm not sure what was in JP's craw initially.

Progress has been made and we are moving forward gentleman!! :twothumbs:

A quick update..

I stopped by my local shop and "most" of the JP parts were shipped out. Evidently JP's been waiting to ship the complete package but the hand guard I ordered was holding them up.

Another "slight" problem is my local guy is a procrastinator. I'm constantly reminding him or asking him; "did you order this", "have you ordered that".... He's a real good guy, Iraqi combat vet, and a local guy thus the reason I support him and cut him some slack...

In his defense though, AR-10 parts are no where near as plentiful or easy to find as their AR-15 counter parts....
