Hi Milspec, and welcome, nice looking rig, you should post that pic in the gallery. I'm curious about your riser, what brand is it, and what is its height off the rail? Also I would be interested on the performance of those 25 round mags, let me know how well they work, I have thinking about getting one or two. Have fun shooting.

Hi,

I just found this site as I was researching info on Rock River's new LAR-8. I have an Armalite AR-10 A4, and while it's functioned fine for me, I haven't been that impressed with it's accuracy. I'm probably expecting more than what it is designed to deliver. I may rebarrel it someday and make it more like a SASS or T model.

In the .308 realm, I've also got 2 Rock River LAR-8's. One is the Mid-length model and the other is a Varmint model. I've put close to 1000 rounds through the Mid-length and have had nothing but great shooting from it. The Varmint model I just got and maybe have 50 rounds through it. It is showing extremely good promise! I've gotten sub-moa groups from both models. The mid-length I've shot in a couple of matches, one of which required me to shoot 350 rounds in a matter of 20 minutes. I had my suppressor on the rifle at the time and it functioned flawlessly.

Anyway, looking forward to discussing AR's with all of you.

I have to agree with crux. For the record the AR-10T is the base platform for the Super SASS, One of the best TACTICAL sniper rifles on the market today, crux, correct me if I'm wrong on this.
As a new member I found that this site has alot to offer all AR-10 owners of all shapes and barrel lengths (chuckle), and that is what this site is all about, if I'm correct, ask mlotziii. I know I will do all I can to help keep this site going for all!!!!

I was searching around on the internet for AR10s and related gear and stuff. Basically preshopping the market to see if there are enough things I could do with it before I commit to buying one.
For a long time, I've had a battle in my own mind between 5.56 NATO and .308 Win. I've made my decision: both!!!
I'm working on an AR15 project right now that hit a road block because of a bad receiver by a crappy manufacturuer who's name rhymes with Blackthorne Products, but, with the aid of a gunsmith the AR15 will soon be functional.
I joined this forum to talk about the AR10. I like both the AR10 and the M1A, as far as .308s are concerned. I just happen to view the AR10 as being a little more affordable and a heck of a lot more ergonomic than the M1A.
I want to know all I can about the AR10 (and similar platform rifles) before I commit to buying anything.
I look forward to many many thought provoking discussions in the future! Take care, all!!!

Hi,

Just picked up an AR10A4CF. I have been looking for one of these for a while now. They have always seemed too expensive. Then I happened upon at at online dealer and snatched it up. No pictures yet and I have not had time to get to the range yet.

I like the 308 round and reload for it. Have a couple of 308 rifles (FAL and a FN PBR) .
Can't wait to take the AR10 to the range. I would like to upgrade the stock, handgaurd and pistol grip when I get the chance and the money.

Looking forward to learning more about this platform.
Thanks,
Frank

Frank, I may have some ideas for you that will open up some options for your rifle that are inexpensive, until you can get the ones you want. I'll be in touch soon.

I apologize sabrexr15, I should have said, "For all you new AR-10 owners I may have some ideas for you that will open up some options for your rifle that are inexpensive", until you can get the ones you want. I'll be in touch soon.
Again my apologies.
I am working on a small article that I will post soon in one of the categories, I'll make a posting when completed. If you need any ideas before then, let me know.

Greetings folks. I just found this site. I have always toyed with the idea of an AR-10, but it just never came together for me. Tonight I learned that I can get it chambered in .338 Fed, which intrigued me. I have .338 Fed bolt action.

I'm looking forward to learning some stuff here. Thanks.
