I want to say it was something like $90 and that included one of their muzzle devices.

I would be interested to hear how that works out for you, if you don't mind.

Nice rig! Looking forward to the range report.

I'd offer up some knowledge but.... That's pretty limited so I'll leave it up to the pros on here.

If that is your game, then go with the 20" bbl if not the 22".

Finally got to the range. Ran thru the typical break in procedure over the weekend. Decided to go back today and see how it liked various types of ammo before beginning my own loads. Oddly enough it liked the least likely candidate.....Federal GMM 168gr was holding around 1 inch with some around .9". Federal GMM 175gr was better with a best of .55" to as much as .92"....Norma 168gr match was all over the place from 1" to as much as 1.7"... Then I tried Black hills 168gr match...this got my attention. The best grouping was at .25" ctc the worst was around .75" and several under .5" The groups where I had flyers were definitely my fault and had everything to do with head position. damn hearing protection always getting in the way......Good thing the can is on order ;)

This is the 168gr GMM

That's a nice group swebb. Looks like you have a nice OTC medium range round, doesn't get much better than that. I have never shot the BH but everyone I have heard shooting it either likes it and brags it up (most) or its average (few). Its almost time for me to get out, weather willing.

Thanks! I honestly wasn't expecting much with OTC ammo at all. It usually sucks for me. I will be loading up some 175gr rounds using SMK's and Berger VLD Target bullets. Going to start with Varget and Federal GMM primers. The 168gr black hills will be great for under 600 yards, but for the longer range stuff I need to get a 175gr to work. Thought about trying some 155gr stuff too.

Nice shooting swebb. I have heard good things about Black Hills Ammo. Have you tried surplus M118 LR? I use both 175gr and 168 gr SMK's with RE15, depending on the rifle. 168 gr for my stadard AR10 1 in 11.25" twist rate, and 175 for my 1 in 10" AR10T.

Siscowet, I have never tried M118 LR. I figured with the 1:10 twist this one has the 175 would be my best bet. I know a lot of people like RE15 as well, but never tried that either. lol. I have a lot of Varget so I will start there...probably pick up some RE15 as well. Sooner or later I will figure out what it really likes.

Varget and RE15 are so close performance wise I wouldnt bother. Varget is impossible to find here at times. M118LR uses 175SMK's and RE15, but it is hot! Could not brlive some chrono readings I had with it. I keep it in reserve now.
