Captured Spring for AR10. Who's tried em? was created by Sharkey

Seems like a nice concept - smoother, quieter.

Anyone tried one in any of their rifles?

Nice find Sharkey but looks like I'm out for now.

I asked about one of these set-ups back when I first got my AR-10, the gurus said forget about it so I did.

The only benefit I can think of is getting rid of the sproing sound. It does not bother me and certainly not enough to spend that much. That's $130 that could go into a suppressor and enjoy true quiet. JP stuff is typically good quality though.

Hydraulic buffers are the ones to avoid like advanced super herpies.

So these are the style to stay away from?

Yep, that's the one. They fail pretty quick in a 5.56 rifle, I can't imagine doing better in the biggin'.
Interesting concept though.

I've noticed a pretty steady flow of used ones listed on ebay. Makes me think they must not work as advertised.

Currently I run the JP Silent Captured Spring system in 2 AR15's; .223 Remington and 6.8 SPC Remington. To date, both run without a hitch thus the reason I've added one to my AR10 build.

I did head over to EBay and none are listed or at least I couldn't find any...If for some reason issues do crop up the change over is pretty easy.
