Governor Rick Scott received SB 234 Concealed Weapons today. Senate Bill 234 by state Senator Greg Evers (R-2) and Representative Chris Dorworth (R-34) makes much needed changes to the "Right-to-Carry" law -- also known as the Concealed Weapons Licensing law. It also makes changes to firearms purchase law to conform to federal law. PLEASE EMAIL GOVERNOR SCOTT TODAY

Legislative Document 910, the Sunday hunting bill, is expected to be considered in the Maine House sometime this week.

The 2011 Nevada Legislature adjourned on June 6 with a number of pro-gun bills advancing during the 120-day session.

House Bill 650, the NRA-backed omnibus firearm bill, passed second reading on Tuesday afternoon. Unfortunately, an anti-gun amendment introduced by state Representative Chuck McGrady (R-117) was adopted by a narrow 59 to 57 vote. This amendment eliminated the Parking Lot language that would have barred any business from prohibiting Right-to-Carry permit holders from storing firearms in their vehicles while parked on the property of that business. Several state Representatives who have historically supported gun owners cast surprising votes in favor of this amendment.

Contact members of the Senate Appropriations Committee TODAY to OPPOSE AB 144! Unfortunately, the California Senate Public Safety Committee sided with the anti-gun extremists and passed Assembly Bill 144, the open carry ban bill, by a 4 to 2 vote yesterday. This bill now goes to the Senate Appropriations Committee.
