Hello,

I was asked to post an introduction here, so here goes...

My name is John McQuay I own " 8541 Tactical ". I am a former Marine Corps Scout Sniper, Jungle Warfare/Survival Instructor and Current LE Sniper. I am a Remington Certified Armorer as well as a NRA LE Precision Rifle Instructor. I am currently working on standing up some precision rifle classes later this summer/fall.

I ventured on here because earlier this year I completed my precision AR-10 build (Noveske 21" .308).

Recently I won a certificate for an Iron Ridge Arms receiver set while competing in the Oregon Sniper Challenge. This will be the base for a 6.5CM or .260Rem competition AR. I realize it's not an AR10, but it will be Armalite pattern and use Armalite Parts with the exception of the barrel and .

From time to time I post some crap on my Blog in addition to my website so give it a read if you want. Occasionally I do AR specific stuff, but I try to stay with general marksmanship and tactics.

Glad you like it.

Keep in mind when I post stuff it's not "THE" way. It's generally just "A" way. If it works, take it. If not, leave it.

It's the way I learn and the way I teach.

Hi

Found this site looking for information on the AR-10T. I currently have a AR-10A2 carbine that I purchased before the Great Caifornia ban around 1999 or so.

While it is a nice rifle I have been wanting more. So I recently picked up a couple Aero Precisions lowers (CA legal configured) and cannot decide what uppers to purchase. Happened upon this site and starting lurking the past week.

Lots of great info on this site. Now my head hurts from all the technical information which I cannot understand.

Welcome Stevie....glad to have you here....we will help you if we can...I have a couple of friends out there so as I tell them ...I'm sorry...LOL
But Really, if you have some questions, I might be able to get one or two of them to check...one it a former Sheriff's dept, and the other is LEO active...
As for the info you can't understand...well I will make it simpler for you if I can....Take a couple of Aleve..put in your ear plugs, load the magazine...insert, drop the hammer and pull the trigger...gun goes bang.... :woohoo:

Just joking around...Ask away on we will try to help....once again Welcome...

FNG checking in. Looking forward to learning all I can from the valuable contributors on this board. The AR platform is new to me. I have a few M14 variants, and several bolt guns. I felt it was time to add an AR to my arsenal, but no poodle gun for me! 7.62 or nothing!
Glad to have found the site. Thanks.

Building them is actually pretty simple. Check out the almost complete build:

The build is actually complete. The article isn't.

She's a heavy beast though.
