A proposal to let people have guns while driving or walking through state university and community college campuses cleared its final hurdle in the Arizona Legislature on Thursday. The House passed the bill on a 33 24 vote, which will send it to Gov. Jan Brewer.

This Monday, April 11, at 10 a.m. in room 436, the Joint Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee is scheduled to have public hearings on several bills of interest to Maine gun owners. Below is a list of the bills that are scheduled to be heard. No action is needed at this time and the NRA will keep you posted on the status of these bills.

House Bill 155, sponsored by state Representative Jason Brodeur (R-33) has been scheduled to be heard in the House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, April 12 at 1:00 p.m.

The Alaska State House of Representatives passed Rep. Mark Neuman's self defense bill late Saturday afternoon, giving law abiding Alaskans the right to stand their ground while protecting themselves and their family in a public place instead of having the duty to retreat.
