The House Committee on Administration of Criminal Justice is scheduled to hold a hearing on Senate Bill 39 tomorrow, in committee room 6 at 9:30 a.m. This legislation passed unanimously in the state Senate two weeks ago. Sponsored by state Senators Eric LaFleur (D-28) and Neil Riser (R-32), SB 39 would clarify that Louisianans may purchase a long gun in any state, and allow a citizen of any other state to purchase a long gun in Louisiana, so long as both states allow such purchases.

As previously reported, NRA-backed House Bill 650 was sent to the House floor for consideration, where a vote is expected to take place at any time. Please contact your state Representative and urge him or her to support HB 650 in its current form and to oppose any amendments to it, especially amendments that would weaken the Castle Doctrine and Parking Lot language. This Thursday, June 9, the Pennsylvania House Game and Fisheries Committee will hold a public hearing to consider ending the prohibition on Sunday hunting. This hearing will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Seven Springs Mountain Resort, 777 Waterwheel Drive in Seven Springs.
